Performing several functions as a Transportation Planner for the Lake~Sumter Metropolitan Planning Organization, Michael‘s current duties include, but are not limited to, providing staff support to the Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee, the Transportation Disadvantaged Coordinating Board, GIS mapping and serving as the MPO’s first Public Involvement Officer.

Born in Long Beach, CA. and raised in Winter Park, Florida, Michael completed his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Central Florida. Michael began his planning career with Lake County as the Alternative Transportation Planner responsible for implementing the multi-use trail system and enhancing the on- road cycling in Lake County.

As a cyclist and competitive runner the planning for the alternative transportation needs of our area comes from deep desire to offer viable transportation options for future generations.
Michael brings a good institutional knowledge of the FDOT Transportation Enhancement Program used to fund the current trail system and expertise in multi-use trail, bicycle and pedestrian project planning.

Michael met his wife Lynn while on a week long cycling trip across Central Florida. They were married on the same bicycling trip two years later. Lynn is a Nurse Practitioner with Nemours Children’s Clinic in Orlando. Michael and Lynn reside in the City of Lake Helen where Michael serves as the Chairman of the Planning and Land Development Regulation Committee.
