Florida Black Bear Scenic Byway State and Federal Corridor Celebration
On Saturday, October 24, 2009, the newly designated Florida Black Bear Scenic Byway will have its official designation celebration. In addition to receiving designation by the Florida Department of Transportation as a Florida Scenic Highway, this corridor was recently designated by the U.S. Secretary of Transportation and now represents one of the collections of distinct and diverse roads in America.

2035 Transportation Plan and Land Use Workshop
The public workshop is the first in a series of outreach efforts to be hosted by the Lake~Sumter MPO throughout 2009. Workshop attendees included members of the MPO governing board and its advisory committees, elected officials, city and county administrators and staff, state transportation agencies and other interested parties.
