Award Nomination Form
The purpose of the Lake~Sumter MPO Horizon Awards is to encourage and recognize excellence in planning, partnership and public service. The awards are to recognize efforts during 2011 and the awards coincide with the annual installation of MPO officers. Nominations must be received by January 6, 2012 to be considered for this year’s awards.
The following awards will be selected by MPO Staff:
Horizon Award: Regional Partner
MPO staff will select from various regional transportation partners, which include governmental entities and transportation agencies. The award will be based upon the strongest demonstration of partnership in furthering the goals and plans of the MPO.
Horizon Award: Volunteer of the Year
MPO staff will select from the various committees and boards of the MPO the individual who has demonstrated the greatest commitment of time and energy to the goals and plans of the MPO.
Horizon Award: Outstanding Achievement
MPO staff will select the most influential individual or team to have furthered the goals or plans of the MPO. The award is intended to recognize the person or group that has most demonstrated the MPO’s mission of “Promoting Regional Transportation Partnerships.” The award may be based on a specific project or on overall efforts in the area of transportation.
